To run a school or tuition class on Mekalaone, we process student and staff records (names, contact details, academic records), attendance and marks, homework and submissions, fee and payment records, and account credentials for admins, teachers, parents and students.
Data is used only to operate the platform for the school or institute that entered it — attendance, exams, fees, communication between staff and parents, and delivery of online classes. We do not sell student or parent data to third parties.
Payments are processed through PayHere and PayPal. Mekalaone does not store full card numbers; payment details are handled by those providers under their own security and privacy terms.
Class recordings are encrypted at rest and in transit, and are made available for playback only to students who attended or paid for the class, and to the relevant teacher and school admin.
Academic and financial records are retained for as long as the school or institute maintains an active account, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet recordkeeping obligations, after which they can be deleted on request.
Parents, students and staff can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting their school's administrator or Mekalaone support directly.
